Chinese Char Siu Roast Pork
Ingredients
- ½ cup hoisin sauce
- ½ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup dry sherry
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 teaspoons minced green onions
- 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 pounds boneless Boston butt pork roast
Directions
- Combine first 9 ingredients in a large zip-top plastic bag.
- Trim pork and cut into (2-inch) cubes.
- Add pork to bag; seal and marinate in refrigerator 24 hours, turning bag occasionally.
- Remove pork from bag, reserving marinade.
- Cook meat in marinade in Dutch oven.
- Add 1-1 ½ cups water to marinade.
- Cook at 300 for 2-2 1/2 hours.
- Preheat broiler.
- Broil pork 5 minutes or until browned.
- Serve on bread.
