Cheese Grits
Ingredients
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups water
- 1.5 tsp kosher salt
- 1 c coarse ground cornmeal
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 oz sharp cheddar, shredded
Directions
- Place milk, water, and salt into large pot and bring to boil.
- Once boiling, add cornmeal gradually while whisking.
- Decrease heat to low, cover, whisk every 3-4 minutes for 20-25 minutes until creamy.
- Remove from heat, add pepper and butter, whisk to combine.
- Whisk in cheese until melted.
