Cherry-Hazelnut Steel-Cut Oats

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups steel-cut oats
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ⅔ cup dried sweet cherries
- ¼-½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 5 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ cup chopped hazelnuts
Directions
- Combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan (for a creamier version, use half water and half milk); bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Halfway through cooking time, stir in the cherries and cinnamon.
- Remove from heat. Stir in sugar and 2 tablespoon nuts. Place 1 cup oatmeal in each of 6 bowls; sprinkle each serving with 1 ½ teaspoon nuts;
