Cheese Grits

Ingredients: 2 cups whole milk 2 cups water 1.5 tsp kosher salt 1 c coarse ground cornmeal 0.5 tsp black pepper 4 tbsp butter 4 oz sharp cheddar, shredded

Tools: Pot Cheese grater Measuring cups Whisk Spoon

Steps: Place milk, water, and salt into large pot and bring to boil. Once boiling, add cornmeal gradually while whisking. Decrease heat to low, cover, whisk every 3-4 minutes for 20-25 minutes until creamy. Remove from heat, add pepper and butter, whisk to combine. Whisk in cheese until melted.
